The size of a blender is very important? Why? Because you could spend a lot of money on a blender that does everything imaginable, but if it takes up too much space on your worktop it goes in the cupboard and is likely to just stay there! Believe me, I speak from personal experience and much wasted money! So you need the smallest blender that will do what you really need it to do. That way it can take pride of place in between the toaster and the kettle.
Time
The whole idea of a blender is to save on that most precious of things, your valuable time. That won’t happen if you end up fiddling around cleaning numerous attachments and different sized blades etc. If the thing can’t be very easily cleaned – and that usually means throwing it into the dish washer, pressing the on switch and then getting on with your life – then forget it! Again, I speak from my own past experience and that of many others.
Also, you don’t want to stand there watching the food spin around and around forever. If the blender has a motor that you can spin faster if you strapped it around the cat as it idled by the kitchen door, then don’t bother!. The motor should have a decent amount of torque. So in a few second the job is done.
Versatile
Yep. Versatility is good. But don’t go overboard here. Get a blender that can process the types of food you know you will be blending rather than one with a host of fancy gadgets and attachments that will never get used.
Easy To Use
It must be easy to use or else once the novelty has worn off., you just won’t bother. Again, having fewer attachments to deal with makes using the thing easier and quicker. You just want to put your food inside, set it off and in the shortest time possible, be devouring that delicious smoothie or soup or whatever your favourite recipe is.
